Seven Months Twitter Ban lifted by Federal Government

The Federal Government has lifted the suspension on microblogging website, Twitter, seven months after it suspended the web-based media stage in Nigeria.

This was contained in an assertion gave by the Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement and Director-General National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) guides me to illuminate the public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has supported the lifting of the suspension of Twitter activity in Nigeria powerful from 12am this evening, 13th January 2022. The endorsement was given after a notice kept in touch with the President by the Honorable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim,” the assertion added.

“In the Memo, the Minister updates and demands the President’s endorsement for the lifting in view of the Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement’s proposal.”
